Southern Style Short Ribs

It's officially Summer which can only mean one thing, BBQ's and lots of them. This recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser. It's spicy, savoury and sweet. The seasoning is versatile so it works on chicken and pork. Prepare to unlock your inner caveman with these beef short ribs !








 

Southern Style Short Ribs

Serves 5-6

Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef short ribs

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp of dried chopped onion

  • 1 tbsp of smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp of ground paprika

  • 1 tbsp of garlic granules

  • 1 tbsp of jerk seasoning

  • 1 tbsp of ground ginger

  • 2 tbsp of dark brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce of choice

  • 2 tbsp oil oil

Method

  1. Place all the seasonings, hot sauce and oil into a bowl. Mix well.

  2. Pour the mixture over the beef ribs and massage in. Make sure the ribs are coated properly.

  3. Leave to marinate for at least one hour.

  4. Cook for 30 mins on the BBQ. (The time may be less or more depending on the thickness of your ribs, so be sure to double check before removing them from the grill.)
